Meet the Career Guidance Camp Team

We both feel very fortunate to have found our passion in life - working with and supporting young people in unlocking their future potential

Breda Ann de'Courcey

I graduated with a BSc in Business from GMIT and a MSc in Human Resource Management from DCU before working in industry for several years.

In 2011 I completed a Higher Diploma in Education with Trinity College Dublin, graduating as a Business and Accounting teacher. I taught both subjects in Ireland and the UK for 7 years before returning to education to train as a Guidance Counsellor. I graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Guidance Counselling from Maynooth University in 2018.

As Guidance Counsellor I strive to guide students and young people so they can make informed choices about their future in relation to employment, education and training. I achieve this through practical sessions with a focus on student interaction and through assisted research aimed at motivating students to engage in, and take an active role in their career development.

Faustina McLoughlin

I graduated with a BBS in Business with Spanish from GMIT and worked in international business for several years.

I returned to education in 2004 and completed a Higher Diploma in Education with NUI Maynooth, graduating as a Spanish and Business Teacher. I taught both subjects for over 11 years and in 2015 I returned to NUI Maynooth to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Guidance Counselling. I graduated with first-class honours and transitioned into the role of Guidance Counsellor. I feel privileged to be using my skills and knowledge base to provide career guidance and counselling to students. I graduated as a Droichead Mentor in 2017 furthering my skills in supporting young people in the next phase of their career journey.

I graduated as an Instructional Leader in 2018, ensuring that I provide students with a quality learning and teaching experience in the classroom.

I have a particular passion for supporting senior cycle students in their career planning process. I listen carefully to students and support them with their unique goals. I help students to reflect upon their attributes, skills, experience, aptitudes, drivers and interests - all with the aim of finding a theme that may be of interest to them.

As well as working as Guidance Counsellors, we are both life long learners and are passionate about furthering our own knowledge in the field of career guidance. In 2019 we both achieved a Train the Trainer Learning to Learn Certificate which enhanced our knowledge of learning, memory and study skills. This leadership opportunity has allowed us to support students to develop healthy learning and study habits.

  • We are both Garda vetted with our respective schools
